OBITUARY - 1933 James Wood, a resident of Bateman for 22 years, passed away at his home 1 mile north of Bateman at 4:00 o'clock this morning, after a long illness. Mr. Wood submitted to an operation at St. Joseph's hospital in Sept., returning home in little more than a week. He has been at home since that time. He was born in Juneau County, Sep. 5, 1868. Surviving are his wife and 8 children: Walter, Clarence, Theodore, Robert, Melvin, and Leila, Mrs. Leonard Bue, and Mrs. C. J. Sivertson of Minneapolis; also 2 sisters, Mrs. Martha Johnson of Elroy, Mrs. P. LaQua of New Lisbon and 2 brothers, Martin of Elroy and Hans of Minneapolis. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 1:00 o’clock at the Hogseth undertaking parlors, and at 2:00 o’clock at the Bateman English Lutheran church. Interment will be made in the Bateman cemetery. |
