Noteringar
Julia as remembered by her brother, Thomas. "Julia was born after Thora. She and some of her cousins owned a dressmaking shop in Eau Claire. I was quite young then (before 1896). I remember that she came home to be married to Jim Woods around 1895 (it was actually in 1896). She had eight children: Hilda, Mabel, Walter, Clarence, Robert (Bob), Todd, Thomas Melvin and Lila. Jim Woods drank a great deal. He was a good violinist and played for many dances. He was full of the dickens all of the time. People liked him because he was such a cut-up.
They moved to Chippewa Falls and lived on a farm. That's when he started to drink. His farm was really too small to raise much.
Hilda married Leonard Bue, a wealthy farmer, and had a beautiful home and farm. She died quite young of a disease. Her daughter, Dorothy, died of the same disease very young. Lila, her youngest sister died of the same thing."
Julia would prepare a delicious fish dinner as her sons were always fishing and would bring home their catch.
