Dr. B. S. Brown's biographical information was obtained from his Texas DVS death certificate and that of his sister, Minnie Brown Allan. (The certificate name matches his marker as Dr. B.S. Brown, but in official records it was apparently entered in error as Dr. B.B. Brown.) He was born in Texas on Feb. 24, 1869.

His father was James P. (Jim) Brown, born likely in Alabama, and mother was Harriet Wright, born likely in Ohio.

He graduated from the University of Texas Medical School in Galveston in 1900, and was married to Karin Billings Brown after that time. She and her sister emigrated to Galveston from Sweden. He practiced medicine in Kerens, Texas for many years. The Browns had no children. His wife's sister, Wilamena "Villy" Billings Bristol, moved to Kerens after she was widowed. The two Billings sisters sent for their widowed mother, who joined them from Sweden.

Buried in this Brown family plot are: Dr. Brown; his sister Minnie Brown Allan; his wife Karin Billings Brown; his wife's sister, Wilamena "Villy" Bristol; her husband, John Wilson Stump Bristol, and the sisters' mother, Augusta Kastberg ("Mama") Billings, from Sweden.
