OBITUARY FOR JOYCE: Joyce E. Hufendick, 57, died suddenly in a hospital at The Dalles on Sept. 12. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16 at the Chapel of Macy & Son. Preivate committal was at Evergreen Cemetery, Seattle, Wash. Joyce E. Hufendick, daughter of Octor John adn Alice Miller Torbeson, was born Nov. 6, 1912 at Plaza, N.D. She as reared and school in Plaza and graduated from high school there. She moved to Vancouver, Wash. where she graduated from nusres training. Before her marriage, she worked at Columbus Hospital in Great Falls, Mont. She was married to Ira Hufendick in 1945 at everett, Wash. They lived in Seattle until 1950 when they came to McMinnville. Since that time, she had owned and operated Hufendicks Children's Shop here. Mr. Hufendick died in 1954. Mrs. Hufendick was a member of the McMinnville chamber of Commerce, the Robert Morris Chapter, O.E.S., in Seattle, an active member of Rotana and teh Camelia Court, Amaranth, in McMinnville,of which she was a past royal matron. She is survived by a brother: Thomas t. Torbenson, Minot, N.D.; a sister, Mrs. Florence Woodmark, Everett, Wash.; four nephews and nieves: John Torbenson, Minot, David Torbenson, Sparks, Nev., Mrs. Marilyn Hanson, Seattle, and Mrs. Joan Metzger, Lake Oswego. Memorials may be made to the Rotana Scholarship Fund.
