Torbjørn joined the military in 1802, where he served for ten years as a soldier in the Hjartdalske company. He was often stemna for dish or forlikskommisjonen in year after århundreskiftet, and have probably residence noko strilynt. In 1812 was he t. d. stemna by his T. Leine after an hestehandel. His Leine kravde thousand rd. (! ) for commerce, but they become not conciliate. Torbjørn meet for forlikskommisjonen on new in 1813. Kommisjonsstaden was Kleppen. He came in in kommisjonsrommet and forlangte å bli ekspedert straks, but got announcement if å wait on trip, because commission not kunne dispatch(matter has not been handled) meir enn an if gongen. Torbjørn become beden if å go out by lokalet, dinest teken in arm by first fredsmeklar, as wild føre he out. In 1831 divide Torbjørn ifrå half farm, and to 1853 owner he and son, Gunleik, half farm where (each). The am (is, are) unknown if they also the farm where (each) for itself. Torbjørn purchased the Nordistugu Bø farm, gnr. 71.2, in 1825, and then got the Nistugu Frøland farm, gnr. 75.2, at an auction in 1838. From about 1810 byrja he å purchase partar in Vårstulen, see Gransheradsoga. Vårstulen was tidlegare vår- and hausthamn during Siljudalen, but Torbjørn rydda, broke soil and set up house. He starta farmplace, and moved to Vårstulen when he become old. Fire by sons take over where (each) its farm after he.
Gunleik, the oldest son, took over the Omnes farm.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Torbjørn operated the Omnes farm and later established the Vaarstulen farm between 1810 and 1818. The farm was made through several deals to acquire land from the Siljudalen area of Gransherad in Telemark.
One of the land negotations had to be postponed to accommodate military officers who were away at war, probably the Napoleonic Wars. (notes from Bob/Gib)
The Vaarstulen farm was passed on to his son Torbjorn Torbjornson in 1849.
