-She was married three times; first to Ole Bjørnson in October 24, 1864, they had one child, Henry Olaus born in July 24, 1863. Second, she was married about 1866 to Chris Nelson and they had one child, Olfine Christiane who was born in 1869 and her third marriage was in 1871 to Hans Kittelson Landsverk.

- Margitte's brother, Hans Halvorsen, was a Private in Company D, 15th Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry (The Scandinavian Regiment). He enlisted on November 5, 1861 for a 3 year term of service. He was taken prisoner by the Confederates at the Battle of Pickett's Mill. He was a prisoner at Andersonville Prison Camp in Georgia for 8 to 10 months.
