Wood, 87, of Boyd, formerly of Stanley, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, Aug. 24, 2001 at Victory Medical Center in Stanley. Barbara was born on Nov. 24, 1913 in the Town of Sigel, the daughter of August and Mary (Ravor) Hakes. Barbara married Claude Barquist in 1940. They divorced, and she married James Wood in 1952. Survivors include: Four children, Doris (Donald) Hetke of Boyd, Carol (Harold) Hedrington of Osseo, Claude Barquist of Willard, and Jim Wood of Chippewa Falls; one brother, Raymond Hakes of Cadott; 14 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her parents, husbands, and daughters, Betty and Donna, and sons, Albert, Gene and Dick. She was also preceded in death by: a granddaughter, Ramona; a grandson, Michael; two sisters, Bertha Wood and Hazel Burt; and six brothers, Gerald, Fred, Ed, Carl, Donald and Alfred. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 27 at the Leiser Funeral Home in Cadott, with Rev. Dale Hazard officiating. Internment will be in the Bateman Cemetery, Town of LaFayette. Friends may call at the Leiser Funeral Home in Cadott from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 26, 2001, and also one hour before services Monday at the funeral home.
