He went to a institute, while there his sister, Selma, went to visit him and did not like where he was staying so she had him removed and returned to live with his mother where he remained until his death.

OBITUARY - 1938 Leonard Conrad Johnson was born on a farm in the town of Fountain, July 13, 1903 and died at the home of his mother, Mrs. Knute Johnson, in that township May 3, 1938 after a long illness. He was baptized on August 2, 1903 and confirmed in East Lemonweir church July 27, 1919. He was a carpenter contractor by trade. Mr. Johnson graduated from a graded school in 1919 and later attended New Lisbon high school for two years. Following a major operation to which he submitted in 1927, Mr. Johnson never retained his health and was forced to give up his vocation. Everyone who knew him regarded him very highly. Funeral services were held last Friday afternoon, with a prayer at the home being followed by services in East Lemonweir church. Rev. C. Hjermstad officiated. C. M. Lamson was the funeral director. Burial was made in the East Lemonweir cemetery. The funeral was largely attended. Surviving him are: his mother, Mrs. Knute Johnson; two sisters, Huldah of Milwaukee and Selma (Mrs. Edward Martin) of town of Fountain; five brothers, Elsmere, Hilbert and Floyd of town of Fountain, Enoch of Milwaukee and Theodore of Elroy, besides many other relatives. His father, Knute Johnson died on August 20, 1930. |
