OBITUARY - 1983
Elmer Earl Ristow, age 82 of Elroy, passed away Tuesday, September 6, at St. Mary's Hospital, Madison. He was the son of Charles Ristow and Cora Jones and was born August 31, 1901 in Necedah. He attended the Sand Hill School and Hustler School. He was united in marriage to Agnes Wood on January 18, 1928 at the East Lemonweir Lutheran parsonage. He was a dairy farmer in the Township of Fountain for 56 years until he retired in 1980 when he moved to Elroy. He was a member of the East Lemonweir Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife, Agnes; one daughter, Mrs. Lylye (Janet) Gruen of Madiosn; one sister, Mrs. Margaret Jacobson of Elroy; one grandchild; and four nephews. He is preceded in death by a brother, Carl, and sister, Lula Burdick.
Funeral services were held Saturday, September 10 at 2:00 p.m. in the East Lemonweir Lutheran Church, Rev. Harvey Frye officiated. There was a prayer service held Friday evening in the Hare Funeral Home in New Lisbon.
Burial was in the family lot in the East Lemonweir Cemetery.

MARRIAGE ANNOUNCEMENT - 1928
Married - The marriage of Miss Agnes, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Martin Wood of Church Valley, near Elroy, to Elmer E. Ristow of Hustler was solemnized at he Norwegian Lutheran parsonage yesterday afternoon, Rev. C. Hjermstad officiated. Their witnesses were Theodore Johnson and Margaret Nelson.
