Family story goes that Julius came to the US to marry Bertha Gracey and pretended to be ill and returned to Sweden. His brother Fred Kollberg came over, married Bertha, had a daughter Grace and asked Bertha to go to the mines and she refused. She tore up the marriage certificate and took Grace to Iola, Kansas to raise at her brothers home. Fred went on to marry Edna Luehrs and have a daughter, my mother, Barbara Jane. Years later my mom finds out she has a half sister.
