David T. Torbenson, 67 of Fargo, died Saturday, June 19, 2010 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Fargo.
David Thomas Torbenson was born on March 16, 1943 in McMinnville, Oregon to Thomas and Florence (Coons) Torbenson. He graduated from Plaza High School in Plaza, North Dakota. Following high school he served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Japan, Thailand, Philippines, and Alaska.
He married Elise Johnson on January 27, 1968 at St. Charles Catholic Church in Herman, MN. They lived in Reno, NV, Bismarck, ND and Fargo. David graduated from NDSSS in Wahpeton in 1968 with a degree in electrical engineering technology. He did business machine repair for NCR, Gaffaneys, North Country, Cash Registers, Inc. and S & L Computers.
He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Fargo, the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion. He enjoyed coin collecting, fishing and computer games.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
David is survived by his wife, Elise of Fargo; children, Suzette Laura (Brad) Klose of Fargo, Mary Diane (Lucas) Zukaitis of Lakeville, MN; grandchildren, Allison Jade Klose, Taylor Rain Zukaitis, Dillon Jackson Zukaitis, and brother, John Torbenson of Beaverton, OR.
